You take it out of your pocket, fold it in half, and put it back in your pocket.
I learned that joke while working at the track & it’s so true!
Mom & I went to Emerald Downs today. We didn’t win any money, but we had a fantastic time.
Random thoughts and happenings from the Bright family
I had the best weekend hanging with some great girlfriends in Leavenworth. It was a much needed break!
First stop, lunch in Roslyn on our way to Leavenworth .![]()
Second stop, the Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort. They are a client of mine, so I had the inside scoop on good places to stay in Leavenworth. I didn’t get photos on the resort myself, but here are a couple that Jessica took of the cluster of lofts we stayed in and the pool.
Third stop, the liquor store in town.
This was our room. It was full of clothes and booze.
Jenny wanted to take a silly photo with Elvis,![]()
Off to the Grotto. They had a bar on site, so why would we ever leave the resort?
I’m looking forward to doing this again soon.
This past week was Sara’s last week helping us with the kids. I’m sure Ian’s going to miss catching bugs each week with his fellow bug catcher, Elijah.
Thank you for all of your help Sara. We love you guys and look forward to hanging out soon…
I loved the light one evening as we hung out in the backyard. She’d taken the ponytails out of her hair, so it was WILD!
We went to the local Water Garden store because I was there last week fixing our pond pump and saw the most amazing Koi in their giant pond. I took Hannah to see them and we learned that the Koi are super friendly.
They came right up to us & would suck on your hand if you offered it to them. I did it and it felt very strange!
Hannah gave it a try at a smaller pond, but the fish wasn’t into it.
Then off to the Farmer’s Market for lunch and then ice cream.
Little poser!
Hannah and I made Raku at the Farmer’s Market about a month ago. We picked them up glazed a couple week back and Ian was upset that he couldn’t do his own. The lady organizing the art project was kind enough to give us some clay to make Raku at home.
We had our house on the Garden Walk this year. It wasn’t something I was planning on doing, but the organizer of the event asked me to be on it. I’ve been working on the yard the 5 years we’ve been here, and I’ve been working toward feeling that the garden was worthy of showing off on the Garden Walk. The personal invite made me feel that perhaps we’re there.
I spent the entire day before busting my butt planting a few new plants, picking every weed I could spot, and getting our pond pump functioning again.
Here is Hannah hanging out in the backyard enjoying a treat.
Ian with his bug habitat. He’s obsessed with this thing!
After the Garden Walk, there was a community picnic and dedication of the restored Hat ‘n Boots at the park across the street from our house. Hannah really enjoyed the tunes.
Hannah LOVES our neighbor Lynda!
Slide time.
