Cama Beach Adventure

We headed up to Cama Beach State Park for our much anticipated Memorial Day weekend adventure that I booked 9 months ago.

Just our luck, it rained all weekend.  We did our best to make the most of it, but with the microwave or grill as the only options for preparation, we did quite a bit of grilling in the rain.

Good times were had by all, and we’ll certainly visit again next year, but perhaps in late June or July instead.

Hannah’s favorite pastime was digging in the dirt.

Day two brought a very rainy morning, so we spent it inside doing art work.

Screw the rain, outside, here we come…   Our cabin was the third one from the right.

Ian spotted a Gray Whale that we then all got to see when it spout less than 50 feet from our shore.  It was a fantastic site to see!

This was our grill that we staked out where we sat & cooked while the kids threw rocks and played.

We had a long walk down the beach to private beaches were we found great sea life.

Dunno what this is.

Scooter Time

Thank you Grammy for Hannah’s new scooter.  She loves having a big girl scooter just like her big brother.

Little Ballerina

Miriam had her recital this past weekend that me & the kids attended, while Chi was working way too hard.  Here are a few shot from that special day.

Garden Time

Last year, the we just let the garden do it’s thing & let the plants establish themselves.  We’re adding a few plants now, all of which I’ve coveted for some time & I’m finding just the right spot for each.

Here are the new additions…

Impatiens that will fill these beds in a couple months.

A male kiwi vine.  I love how the new growth has this pink hue (which the female vines don’t have).

I transplanted the plant on the left from a location that was way too sunny and it’s looking so happy in it’s new locale.  I bought a few mosses that I like, they’re little puff balls of a beautiful green color called ‘Emerald Spike Moss.’

Bubble Trouble

We picked up some bubble wands from Target yesterday and today we tried them out in the backyard.  They were so fun!

I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it…

Ro Ro BBQ is coming to the hood and I’m trilled.  They have another location in Wallingford, and the reviews look positive.

I’m glad they’re close, cause we’ll definitely need to walk this off!
