One Year Anniversary

I've been blogging about the family happenings for a year now. This is my 66th post. I'll try to keep up that pace for the coming year.

On a side note, I thought of a business idea. Putting someone's blog into a photo book for them, captions included.

Anyone out there?

I've been working hard at keeping the blog updated, and lately I've been feeling like it's in vain. Should I be spending my time printing up photos and putting them in an album instead? Perhaps I'll take up scrapbooking.

My Office

My office. My how nice that sounds!

My office used to be Ian's room at the Des Moines house and here, it's been in the computer room/ kids TV room/ guest bedroom (using a blow-up bed).

My office is now a real office that only has office & work stuff in it. Per Demmari's request, and my excitement about having an office, here are some photos.

Throwback

I was thinking it would be fun to find some Star Wars Underoos for Ian, so I did some online research and they're super expensive and collectible, so I guess that's out. Just for fun, here is an image of the Wonder Woman Underoos that Demmari wore as a kid. If I remember correctly, mine were Barbie. So funny!

A Word of Caution

I spoke with Demmari the other day and she warned me from personal experience that friends will check my blog out and feel that they know what's going on in my life, and therefore, not call as much. Trust me, there's a lot of stuff that will happen in our lives that I will not be posting, so you must keep in touch.

I do encourage others to do family blogs as well. It's super easy!

More thoughts on blogging

I've been thinking about what types of things I want to post here on our family blog and it got me thinking about what exactly blogging is. I believe that blogging is the lazy person's version of scrap booking. So call me lazy, because I'm loving the idea of just posting random things that happen and silly things that the kids say.

My first post

I've been using myspace to keep in touch with friends, and it's nice, but honestly, it makes me feel like an old lady trying to be young & hip when I'm using it. All of the ads are targeted at teens and it just reminds me that I don't belong. I considered using friendster, but when I downloaded all my contacts, there was only one person I knew using the site. Sad, I know. It probably just means that I don't know very many people.

So I thought that blogging would be a great way for people to check in on us and see what we've been up to.
