I accidentally took video of the kids on their first day of school. It's a sweet little clip that makes me smile whenever I watch it.

The story of a plant

I purchased a spider plant after graduating and getting my first job with my own cubicle in the spring of 2001.

I bought the tiny two-inch pot size and I've taken the plant with me to each new job over the years including home when I was working from my home office. Despite my best efforts, the plant continued to remain small. I'm a sentimental person, so it'll continue to accompany me wherever I go. I've always thought that when I'm in the right place that it'll grow and it's finally thriving at my in pioneer square office.

It's the small things that make me happy.

Dodge Ball

Ian's after school care does dodge ball on Fridays. Ian loves playing and he's getting really good at it. He's got some strategies, like he always waits behind while everyone runs to grab balls from the line at the start. When I watch him I can see the wheels turning in his brain.

Stretching...

Watching...

Waiting...

Throwing...

And having lots of fun!

Bug world

Ian's bug habitat currently has an insane number of spiders and insects. Here it is with wood and grass that he's put in for cover and food for the grasshoppers he caught at Auntie Sue's house.

He also caught to huge and very scary look orange spider on the right side of this photo.

I was calling Hannah my barfy girl last night and she tells me she doesn't like that. She'd like to be butterfly girl. Ian then informs me he wants to be bug boy.

First Day of School

Today was Ian's first day of first grade and Hannah's first day of preschool. Ian was up early and was really excited.

Ian has a friend in his class from last year, so that was great to see. He sat right down and got straight to reading. I'm a proud momma!

Hannah did great too. She was already playing when I went to say goodbye.

My big kids.
